Logistical information

Visa: All the participants from East Asia, South East Asia and South Asia will get arrival visa upon their arrival at Kathmandu airport. Participants from West Asia and Pacific Island who need to apply visa before they depart for the conference, please let us know the contact information of the Nepali embassy in your country or near by your country, conference secretariat will send visa letter.

Travel Arrangements: For funded participants, we would like them to purchase an economy class (possibly a cheapest) round trip air tickets, they would be reimbursed upon their arrival. Taxi fare should not go beyond NRs 650 or US$ 10 from the airport to your hotel.

Accommodation: Double -room accommodation, inclusive of breakfast will be provided.

Foreign Currency Exchange: Please ensure that you change some money (e.g. $20) to the local currency (Nepali Rupees) upon your arrival at TI Airport to cover your taxi fare, etc. The currency exchange rate is approximately US$ 1 = Rs. 68.00.

Climate: Average temperature is between 14 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Clothing: We recommend that participants bring warm clothing since it is a pre-winter season where morning and evening are cool and days are sunny and warm.

Electricity: Electric supply is on a 220 volt.

Registration: We will ask you to fill up the registration form when we send you the letter of confirmation

Funding: Conference Secretariat is unable to provide air travel cost to the participants. We encourage participants to raise fund from their own initiatives for the travel. However, the conference secretariat will take care of local transportation, accommodation and food during your stay in Kathmandu.
